What kind of impact would a law such as the one in Arizona have in Georgia and what can you do to stop it?
The Vice Governor and President of the Chamber created a Legislative Committee for Immigration Reform to consider implementing a law like the one in Arizona here in Georgia. The Committee has met three times and there seems to be an intention to introduce this law similar to the one in Arizona, which would be devastating to the Georgia economy, especially in rural and agricultural communities. Jerry Gonzalez, Executive Director for GALEO, will present a summary of the issues discussed and proposed at these meetings and will talk on the course that the Georgia Legislature wants to take. He will also provide an opportunity for the community to take action and express their opinions on these legislative proposals.
