# Kindergarten Enrollment Begins Thursday, Jan. 6 #
Kindergarten enrollment in Whitfield County Schools opens on Thursday, Jan. 6.
This enrollment is not for pre-kindergarten, which will open for enrollment later in 2011. Parents of Whitfield County kindergarteners may begin the registration process after the new year at the Student Services Center, which is at:
201 East Tyler Street
Dalton, GA 30721
To be eligible for kindergarten in the fall, students must be five years old before Sept. 1. Parents must provide:
- proof of residence within the Whitfield County School System (i.e. rent receipt, lease agreement, settlement statement, utility bill that shows "service address" or if family is living with another family - notarized letter & utility bill from that person),
- the child’s birth certificate,
- the child’s social security card,
- the child’s immunization form, and
- the child’s eye, ear, and dental form.
The forms are available to download from the school district’s Enrollment page. To reach the downloadable forms on that page, visit the school district website at www.whitfield.k12.ga.us and follow the link provided under “Announcements.”
Printed enrollment forms are also available to pick up at the Student Services Center for those without access to the Internet.
