The time has come again for United Way’s annual race to raise money named “Unity Run”. If you haven’t participated in the past as a racer, you have been missing it, the sense of community and the pride of forming part of what is Gordon County. The race consists of two races including a one-kilometer race at 5:00 pm for the kids that begins at the Gordon high school campus and ends at the Ratner Stadium. The second race/walk is 5 kilometers and starts at 6:30 with the start line at Gordon High School campus and ending in downtown Calhoun at the intersection of Court and Park Ave.
Parking for the 1K race is at the high school and the 5K race recommends parking at Calhoun High School on River Street or the Calhoun Depot. There will be busses running after 4:30 pm to take you to Gordon High School for the beginning of the race.
The cost is $15 to participate in the 1K (Pre-K to 5th grade), $25 to register for the 5K race (all ages). Each participant will receive a shirt and the opportunity to win recognition for the first 3 places per age division.
So come on out and run or bring a sign to cheer for your co-workers, family members or neighbors on Tuesday, September 27th.
