CLILA is the abbreviation for Coalition for Latino Leaders and we are a non-profit organization in Dalton that has served the Latino community in various counties in Northeast Georgia (Whitfield, Murray, Catoosa among others and part of Chattanooga). Our motto is “leadership to serve not to be served” and we firmly believe that each person is a leader that can serve the community.
This organization began to work formally in Mayo 2006, and all of our members are volunteers that donate our time and effort. Little by little and with limited resources we have succeeded in opening doors for the Latinos and establishing local program to fight for equality of opportunities and Latino representation in all sectors. We especially focus on persons of low means and on immigrants. As well as the local work, we have established relationships of collaboration with state and national organizations to accomplish social justice. Some of the services that will be offered in 2012 are:
Citizenship classes – will be offered help with the citizenship exam, practice questions and filling out of application.
English classes – learn English little by little in a friendly atmosphere and at your own pace. We have ...
