Income Tax time 2012 begins in the middle of the month of January. Be careful of who you select to do your income taxes, because the majority of candidates running for president (and those running who could possibly be President) are talking about giving legal status to those persons that are already in this country, something like an amnesty and the first thing that they will require is income taxes. It is extremely important to work with a person of character; honor and that know how to prepare income taxes correctly because if it is done wrong the person that is responsible is the client. I know that an immigration reform is coming and when that moment happens, they say one of the requirements will be to turn in your income taxes (before it was from the last 3 years but now it is the last 10 years). I am open all year and I spend the majority of my time fixing errors that other preparers commit in previous years on income tax forms. Some clients took these declarations to immigration lawyers and I am now fixing the errors. It doesn’t have to be a big mistake nor a small one, an error is an error.
